!!!! Tax exemption status !!!!
Special News Bulletin…Special News Bulletin…Special News Bulletin…
As mentioned during our Spring Meeting in Milwaukee, while the Foundation’s accounts were not touched by the former Society Treasurer and remain strong, our tax exempt status automatically was revoked inasmuch as that former official failed to file income tax reports as required. We are actively pursuing the retroactive restoration of our tax exempt status, however it may be some time before we receive a decision from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
For this reason, we are deleting the statement regarding donations being tax deductible from our website and from the cards used to acknowledge donations. Further advice will be provided when we receive notice from the IRS.
