Foundation

Welcome to the FBI Alumni Foundation page. We are the separate, charitable arm of the Society of FBI Alumni, Inc., formed in 1985 to benefit Society members in need and their families. The Foundation is exempt from Federal income tax under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code and is funded by donations, endowments, and memorials. The mission of the Foundation is to assist Society members in financial need; to distribute funds to members or their immediate families for educational purposes; and to contribute to charitable organizations.

EDUCATION GRANTS

In the beginning of each year, we solicit applications for educational grants from members and their family members, e.g., children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, including stepchildren, step-grandchildren, etc.   Applicants must be enrolled in an accredited college, university or technical/trade school, and must have a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.  Information regarding the application process can be found in the Winter issue of The Informant, and a link to the application can be found at the bottom of this page.

MEMBERS IN NEED

The Foundation also provides financial assistance to members in need.  We have helped members whose needs range from small needs such as purchase of an appliance or a computer, to larger needs resulting from a natural disaster.   Members in need or anyone who knows a member in need may contact the Foundation President directly for assistance, or a Chapter can apply on behalf of a member in need.  We ask all our members to be vigilant in recognizing if a member needs any kind of financial assistance and to remember that funds are available.  This program is strictly confidential.  

Anyone who has been a Society member for at least one year is eligible to apply for or to sponsor a relative for an educational grant or to request member-in-need assistance.

CHARITABLE DONATIONS

In accordance with our charter, the Foundation also makes donations during the year to other charitable organizations. The Boys and Girls Club of America, the Wounded Warriors, and Honor Flight organizations are a few examples of the recipients of our donations.
